Roridan's Morning Mug O' Mead: Yearly Expansions

Gather round the fireplace my friends and fight back the Dun Morogh chill. Today the mead is on me.

A while back, before the dark portal opened, a wise sage at the world famous ice Mage School known as Blizzard said that they were expecting to discover new realms at least one per year as their magical energies allowed.

Now it appears that the people at Blizzard are trying their best to back track and state that they wish to make sure that the current portals are stable and working before the new portals are attempted and they may not be able to open new portals every year. Many people are throwing them under the gryphon on this stating that the want the new portals as promised.

While I am one for new adventure and excitement, I would like to think that if I wanted to come home to Darnassus some day I would be able to through a stable portal. So my question is this. In the general asking is it better to have stable portals or more portals?

In this druid’s opinion, I think having an unstable world would cause many to just stay home and stop adventuring into such dangerous places even if they did have more and more new but unstable portals.

Leave the wizards at Blizzard alone. They are doing a fine job at maintaining the current portals and I feel they will open a new one when they are ready and feel the ebb of the manatide heading that way. Do I want that to be two years from now? No…but neither I, nor nature, nor Blizzard has a set time table.

Roridan's Morning Mug O' Mead: Leveling Race

My good friend Roridan taught me long ago that a good mug of mead will wake you up in the morning! We would sit and discuss the war against the horde or any other thing that came to mind as we sipped our drink.

Today's topic is the leveling race. Specifically is it a good thing to be racing to 70. My friend Nizaril and I always wonder why people feel the need to tear through the countryside not paying a bit of heed to all that is around them or to really what they are doing. What is the fastest path to level 70? That is all that matters to many players.

There was even a gnome mage who talked his guild into assisting him race to 70. Basically he was solo and then would run around and tag all the mobs in an area and then his guild would jump on them once they were tagged. This, as you know, gives him the XP and he shoots up in level thanks to an entire guild helping him. In case you missed it, they played for 28 hours straight doing this. No quests, no adventure, just cheese-a-licous grinding.

I wonder now where that gnome is and if he has quit WOW yet, because the other half of this coin is the “I’m bored, there is nothing to do” syndrome. Well perhaps if you would not have blown through it in the first place, you would have had a tad more fun. But congrats, you were the first player to 70 and then the first 70 to quit the game. How fun is that?

Gather around the table, grab your mug o’ mead and let me know what you think!

Welcome to my World....of Warcraft

Hmmm....my very own blog. Why does this remind me of :

"This is my blog. There are many like it but this one is mine. My blog is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my blog is useless. Without my blog I am silent. I must fire my blog true...."

Ok, probably not original, but funny to me. Now on with the show.

What is Lehtinen's Den? It is my blog on World of Warcraft and things of that nature. Just my space to air out my thoughts on the land of Azeroth, Outland, and things going on in the gaming world around Blizzard’s World of Warcraft.

Let the fun begin!
